Sayed Mufti Abdul Jaleel Qasimi - Director, ABA Iftaa Program

Born in 1954, He is a Sayyid, From the progeny of the Messenger Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. He graduated from Daarul Uloom Deoband in 1971. He completed the Iftaa Course in 1973, at Darul uloom Deoband. He was the first graduate of the Darul Qadha of Darul Uloom Deoband, He has a certificate of Qadhaa from Mufti Mahmoodul Hasan Gangohi Saheb, Qaadhi Sa’eed Saheb, and Qari Muhammad Tayyib Saheb. (may Allah have mercy on them all).

Upon His graduation, Qari Muhammed Tayyib Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) appointed him as a Mudarris (teacher) at Amroha. During his first year of teaching, he taught 13 subjects. A unique feature was that amongst these Subjects was the famous Book Sahih Al Bukhari. Very rarely is it found that a student, upon graduation, teaches this esteemed book during his first year of teaching. He taught for 9 years at Calcutta. During this period at Calcutta, Mufti Saheb was a Qadhi (Judge) at Al Mah-Kamash Shariyyah. He was a senior Qadhi, having 18 lower Darul Qadha (courts) under his jurisdiction. He served as the senior Qadhi of the West Bengal region.

He migrated to South Africa, where he served as a senior Ustaad (teacher) of Hadith at Madrasah Ta’leemud Deen, Isipingo Beach. He served in this position for 15 years. He has taught the famous Sahih Al Bukhari for well over 25 years. The famous and intricate work of Fiqh (Jurisprudence), the third volume of Al Hidayah was taught by Mufti Saheb for over 30 years. He is a senior Khalifa (successor) of the late Grand Mufti of India, Mufti Mahmoodul Hasan Saheb (may Allah have mercy on him).
